My Lovely Mother's Day

I had a great Mother's Day this year. Craig got up and cleaned the whole house, and took care of the kids. It was great!

I told him I wanted flowers for the yard, but I figured it wouldn't happen. When you have no money you pretty much always no how much money you don't have. Well Craig got a check that I didn't know about and used it to by me some pretty flowers for the yard. He also bought me some berry bushes.



And, of course, some treats.



The boys nursery leader had tons of things planned for mothers day. So many cute and special cards from all my little men.



With no money I came up with this idea as a gift for grandma's, and great grandma's.



We attached a poem that read:

Dandelions aren't much more
Then some annoying weed
But when a gift from a child
They're loveliness indeed

Treasures, trinkets, buttons & bows
May be junk to some
But every little child knows
What specialness can come

Keep this jar some place nice
And fill it with the grand
Special gifts and precious flowers
Picked by little hands

Happy Mother's Day!

It's kind of dumb, but oh well.

We ended the day with a nice dinner at my parents house. My Grandma A even joined us. I really enjoyed my special day this year! I hope the other mother's in my life had just as great of a day.

Father's Day and Some Summer Events

Thanks to a friend of mine we discovered there is a splash park not far from our house. Before we were driving up to Highland and Salt Lake to enjoy splash parks. Of course, each splash park is enjoyable in it's own way. I think the Highland one is my favorite, but this one is a plus for convenience.






We finally convinced Baby M he could crawl. It took a lot of effort on both our parts. He did a lot of crying and screaming, and we tried to have a lot of patience. He really isn't a fan of crawling. I think he'd much rather walk. He can pull almost pull himself up, so I'm sure walking isn't far away,



June 17

We attended a close friend's wedding. She's actually younger sister to my best friend when I was growing up. We've kind of drifted a part, but her family is still really important to me so I was very excited for her little sister. Isn't this the coolest cake?



June 19

We celebrated Father's Day by having a nice breakfast, or I guess more of a brunch. I made Craig some yummy crepes and invited my parents over. Later that night we had a nice steak dinner with the rest of the fam. With no Grandpa's to see it was kind of a lonely Father's Day.



Craig got a fancy flag to put on the house. The twins enjoyed marching it around the house, and they were rather disappointed when Dad put it away.



And the boys got some scrubs just like dad. I wrote Future Murse on them. That's a term used for Male Nurses.



June 20

Friends and family gathered together to mourn the loss of Grandpa Guthrie. Not the happiest of occasions, but still it was nice to get together with friends and family. This is Baby M giving my Aunt Maxinne some hugs. He kept leaning into her. It was so cute!






My grandpa's grave is close to another friend's grave. She was a girl I worked with before I moved to St. George. She died not long after I had the twins. Such a special spirit.



I was sad to see her father passed away last Christmas.



June 27

We got together to celebrate the birth of one of the most important men in our lives. Craig's birthday was Monday and we had fun swimming in the pool and eating some goodies.



Craig's cake this year was a homemade pumpkin pie and some Princess Cakes from Ikea. The princess cakes were good, but I wasn't a fan of the pumpkin pie I made.



Baby M however loved it all.



Random

Here's Craig pretending to blow out his pretend candles. I didn't bother with them because usually the wind makes them pointless. However, they probably would have worked this year. Figures!



I got bit by the art bug not too long ago. Decided to sit down and make something fun. I don't know if I like it, but it at least I enjoyed making it.



I also painted these as invites for my parents anniversary party. They turned out pretty cute!

. . .have found a new love. The boys adore their quilts! Thanks again to all those who contributed. The quilts are so fun, and well loved. I'm sure the boys will treasure them always.

What to Name this Update Post? Hmmm. . .

I was trying to think of a title for this post, and everything I typed I had typed before. Apparently I'm not very creative :)

I know I need to blog about our trip to Southern Utah, but I have to do a quick catch up first before I get way behind.

First lets cover

That's so Random

One January morning Craig found this huge icicle on our house. I had to get a pic so I could put it on the blog.



You should have seen the fog we had the other night! It was amazing. I couldn't stop taking pictures of it, and yet I never managed to capture how thick it was.



Trying to be Crafty, Creative and Keep us all Sane

I went to buy bibs for the boys the other day and I found them to be a little expensive. So I decided it wouldn't be too hard to throw some together myself. I cut out the patterns and then started to sew them by hand. Only thing was they looked terrible. My grandmother came to the rescue with her sewing machine. Her only request was that I bring them to her next time to cut them. I admit it! I'm a terrible cutter, especially without a pattern. Sigh, one day I'll own a serger.



I started these rewards charts for the twins. I got the idea from Alisa. She said she uses an envelope. The boys may not get it, but I have fun with it. And they seem pretty excited when I pull out the marker to draw a star in the box. When they fill up the boxes they get to pull of the yellow paper at the bottom to reveal their prize. Is it wrong that I'm so excited about this?



Since Craig is gone all the time he started to get sad that he's not here to see the boys growing and changing. Today I decided I'd email him daily pics of the boys and tell him what cute things they did. Will see if I can keep it up. I guess I only have to do it on days that he's not here.



I'm terrible at reading to my children at bedtime, so I'm trying really hard to bring there hour lesson's back. I mentioned them once before. We started doing them in an attempt to get them more used to nursery. I've done pretty good the last few weeks. The boys are starting to pick up on stuff too. We watched the "Letter Factory" movie and they both made the "F" sound. And before it started they were saying the "A" sound in anticipation. Later Big H said purple, orange and square. Little H said red and circle. They are so cute! I had them showing off their new words to everyone.



My sister in law and I decided to meet up at play places once a week so the boys can run around and play and we can sit and visit. The boys decided to feast on some ketchup. More on that later.



Those Silly Boys

The boys were enjoying a lovely lunch the other day. I cooked hot dogs and gave them some ketchup to dip them in. Guess what they ate for lunch? Ketchup! Actually little H did eat most of his hot dog. Big H, on the other hand, had mostly ketchup.




The boys apparently nabbed the camera and took a few snap shots. I thought I'd share one of their works of art. We really need to get them toy cameras before they ruin ours.



My mom bought these foam squares to put down in the boys room. We ripped out their carpet because their room was always flooding, and I didn't want to deal with it on top of everything else. Thanks Mom!



I hope this video works. Baby M has been making new sounds. And boy are they cute!

Births and Birthdays

My friend had her baby at the beginning of the month and I just had to put it in a post because I'm so excited for her. She is going to be an awesome mom! May I also mention that when we went to see her I could hardly walk ten feet without someone stopping me to tell me how cute my kids are. I still find it funny how complete strangers will drool all over my kids as if they were their own.



Nephew M just celebrated his 1st birthday! What a cutie! We love having him in the family, and I was so glad he made a mess of his cake.



That about cover's it. I think. I guess will call it good. It's a pretty long post already.

July 11 and 12, 2009: Our busy, and Eventful, Weekend

What a crazy fun weekend we had. Our first event was realizing we didn't know where my camera was. Its the only camera we have until Craig orders his new one. We searched everywhere for it. We were looking for it all weekend. Finally we found it today in Craig's car. Phew! We borrowed my mom's camera to take these pictures. We're not having luck with camera's lately.

In the midst of the camera chaos we still managed to have and eventful weekend. We headed up to the Scottish Festival in Payson on Saturday. It was fun, but way hot, and I had dressed to boys for cold weather because when we left it was raining. Well it rained just enough to give us some nice humidity. With the heat, and humidity, we decided not to stay long.



We stopped in Spanish Fork and got some lunch at Carls Jr. Then we headed to Highland to deliver a life vest to my friend.

After that we checked out the new Wal-Mart in Cedar Hills. It was so nice to go to a Wal-Mart that wasn't out of every item we wanted to buy ;)



There we discovered Hyrum had his first tooth coming in. You can't see it in the picture very well, but its there. This is the first time that Hyrum beat Henry to a milestone. And what a fun milestone it is.

I think Henry will be getting a tooth soon. He's been fussy and drooling a lot. Its either a tooth or twin sympathy pains.



While at Wal-Mart we also discovered that Henry is a Patron Saint. Either that or he's trying to convince us what an angelic child he is.

After our fun romp at the new Wal-Mart we stopped and visited my Grandparents in Highland.

When we got home I decided to stay up late and finish the boys name/picture things. I'm going to write there blessing stuff on the back and then hang them up by there blessing outfits.



On Sunday we went to church. I had to take a pic of their outfits because I thought they looked so cute!
