Memorial Weekend

Saturday

We headed up to "Day Out With Thomas". It was freezing cold that day. When we arrived in Heber we found out that they were now charging just to go in and walk around-- $5.00 got you in, but you couldn't participate in anything. Baby M was the only one who could get in free so that would've been $20.00 just for our family to walk around and look at things.

We waited for Thomas to pull in and took a picture outside the gates. Had it been warmer we might have stayed longer, but we grabbed the boys and ran for the car. Little H was upset. "I want to see Thomas!" He kept crying.

I felt bad, but it just seemed like it was getting too overpriced.

Well we decided to stop at the Dairy Keen-- our favorite burger joint in Heber. After all, we had come all that way. Everyone and their dog was there, but we went inside anyway. They had a Thomas train running around their track, and the boys shouted with excitement every time they saw that little train. Seriously! It was like Christmas Morning.

They also had little engineer hats for $1.00. It made the day so much more fun.

We stopped by to see Thomas one more time.

Then the drive home. The boys crashed!

Sunday

We visited my Grandpa G's grave, and took him some flowers. Baby M fell asleep in the car so we took a picture with the twins.

We also stopped at my Grandma G's house, and got to visit with my cousin and her family. It was a fun day.

Monday

I was awesomely exciting and cleaned the whole morning. The boys pitched in and helped.

Then we headed to my Grandma A's and helped my Dad plant the garden. The boys were so cute, and only a little trouble, when it came to helping in the garden.

After the garden was done we drove to my Grandpa A's grave in Payson. The twins went home with my Dad so we just had Baby M. He had started to drift off as we pulled into the cemetery, so he was kind of grumpy. We took a picture quickly and then left, so he could sleep.

We then met up at my parents for a yummy BBQ, and the boys pretended to get in the pool-- it was pretty cold.

That concludes the events of our fun, exciting and exhausting Memorial Day weekend.

May 31, 2010: Memorial Day

Good Morning!

It's time to kick off the celebration of the unofficial start of summer.

First lets go shopping! And since shopping ran into nap time a sucker is a reasonable purchase.

Ahhh. . .thank goodness the boys went down for a nap on Grandma's bed. I'm always nervous when there's no crib to contain them.

Now it's time to get in the pool!

No not that pool!

That's more like it!

Oh water feature, how we love thee!

Time for some good eats.

How about a game! This is the boys favorite game- especially Little H.

Peek-A-Boo!

Why must little boys be obsessed with going up stairs?

I know you don't need to go in to use the bathroom. The party's over here!

The water was a little chilly, but a heater for the big pool- and buckets of shower water for the little pool- helped fix that problem. Of course, when we were ready to get in the pool the clouds came in, but we still jumped in and had a good time- after all it was still warmer then last year's Memorial Day. When the clouds finally left the swimming was really good!

Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for the fun Memorial Day celebration!

May 26, 2009: Memorial Day, the boys are two months old!

Yesterday the boys turned 2 months old, and they took their first dip in a swimming pool. It was too cold to try to put them in all the way, so we just dipped their little toes in. Then we took them up to the jetted tub for some real swimming lessons. I would have gotten more pictures, but we dropped the camera into the tub. I told Craig, "I already said you could have a new camera, you didn't have to try and break the old one." Luckily our camera still works. At least well enough for me to get some photos off of it.
The usual norm on Memorial Day is to visit my brother's grave, but this year we decided to take the first, slightly chilly, dip into my parents pool. It was a fun party. My brother and his wife came, along with my two little nephews. And my Grandparents, on my mom's side, showed up as well- I even got to sneak in an extra hot dog. It was a good day!
