My Lovely Mother's Day

I had a great Mother's Day this year. Craig got up and cleaned the whole house, and took care of the kids. It was great!

I told him I wanted flowers for the yard, but I figured it wouldn't happen. When you have no money you pretty much always no how much money you don't have. Well Craig got a check that I didn't know about and used it to by me some pretty flowers for the yard. He also bought me some berry bushes.

And, of course, some treats.

The boys nursery leader had tons of things planned for mothers day. So many cute and special cards from all my little men.

With no money I came up with this idea as a gift for grandma's, and great grandma's.

We attached a poem that read:

Dandelions aren't much more
Then some annoying weed
But when a gift from a child
They're loveliness indeed

Treasures, trinkets, buttons & bows
May be junk to some
But every little child knows
What specialness can come

Keep this jar some place nice
And fill it with the grand
Special gifts and precious flowers
Picked by little hands

Happy Mother's Day!

It's kind of dumb, but oh well.

We ended the day with a nice dinner at my parents house. My Grandma A even joined us. I really enjoyed my special day this year! I hope the other mother's in my life had just as great of a day.

Baby M's Surgery

The last Friday in May we took Baby M in to get is umbilical hernia fixed. The hernia was getting big enough that they would do surgery, but it was still optional. We decided to go ahead and get it while he had insurance. We didn't think the hernia had much chance of getting smaller with how active he is.

The surgery was really no big deal. We were at the hospital for just a matter of hours. Even so, Craig and I were a little emotional.

Baby M enjoyed his little remote. He talked on it like a phone, and tried to press the "call nurse" button a couple of times.

They gave him some medicine to make him happy/relaxed. He was pretty kookie on it. He kept stroking Craig's face, and giving him hugs.

After the medicine kicked in they took him back. I was afraid I might cry.

I was glad to hear that he wouldn't be poked until he was completely out. I don't think I could have handled watching, and listening to, my baby getting an IV that day.

Waiting was kind of nerve wracking. Poor Craig looked so nervous. Luckily the surgery took less then an hour and we were soon told that all went well.

Baby M coming out of the anesthesia was far worse then Baby M going into surgery. He cried, screamed, wiggled and yelled. He was not happy and would not give into sleep. They had put a tube down his throat during surgery, to help him breath. It made his voice sound raspy and I think his throat felt funny. That's probably what bothered him the most.

Craig took him from me within a few minutes, of him being out of surgery, and didn't give him back. He held him the whole time we were waiting to check out, clear until we got to the car. I think he was worried about his little boy.

Within a couple hours Baby M was pretty much acting normal.

Our favorite part of the surgery was Baby M and his "Gi-goo's". "Gi-Goo" is sort of Baby M's catch phrase and he said it up until the very end. He even said it once when he was coming out of the anesthesia.

Our Days of Learning

Every other week I try to plan little learning activities for the boys.

Here are some of the fun things we've done. First the boys enjoyed the lunch Grandma A bought for them.

Then we did our color activity. The boys went out in the yard to find something that matched the color they had on their paper

It was a bit of a struggle to get Baby M. to join in, but it was still fun.

One Sunday found us taking a trip up Hobble Creek canyon. I decided to squeeze in some activities since I had kind of slacked that week. The boys enjoyed catching bugs with Craig.

And I sort of helped/did this little art/math project.

Baby M enjoyed wondering all over,-- including wondering down to the creek-- ignoring us and eating dirt.

After the canyon we headed to my parents and watched the eclipse-- sorry no cool pictures.

The boys had a water fight with their spray bottles.

The boys have enjoyed our fun little activities, and they are learning so much. It's so fun and rewarding!

One Day

I have quite a few posts to post. Of only the camera, the internet, the computer and I could all coordinate.

Meanwhile I hope another post of cute boy stories from my phone will satisfy.

Little H cracks me up with his own personal name pronunciations. Like he calls Buzz and Woody, from Toy Story, "Buddy". And, while shopping at Wal-Mart, he pointed to a Winnie the Pooh toy and said, "Look! Its Buck a Pooh!"
It made me laugh

Little H was all distraught about finding his Dash toy before bedtime. I was helping him look all over the bathroom for it. I was amazed at how well he understood and talked while he searched.
First it was, "Where's Dash? Is he in the toilet. Huh! Mom, Dash is in the toilet!"
We confirmed he wasn't. He continued to look under toys and in the bathtub.
"Is he down the drain? Mom! Dash went down the drain!"
We confirmed that was not true either. I rinsed my hands off in the sink and he pointed to it and said, "Is he in the water? Dash is in the water?"
Finally, he had to retire to bed. I eventually found his Dash toy, in the living room.

Big H has kept me entertained too. He's still way into super heroes. He always asks, "Who's that?"
"That's Green Lantern."
"I'm Green Lantern."
"What's that?"
"That's Batman's symbol."
"I'm symbol."
"What's that?"
"That's a weapon he uses to get bad guys."
"I'm bad guys."
He does this with a lot if things: superheroes, movie characters, almost everything. Sometimes he'll only answer to the current super hero he is at the time. And if you guess wrong he'll let you know.
"I'm not Sash(Flash). I'm Green Lantern."
He also has a nasty habit of pulling down his pants to show which superhero he's wearing that day. Seriously! We'll be at the store and I'll look over to see Big H, with his pants down, admiring his underwear. We need to get some shirts for him to admire.

Big H is the king of drama. The Saturday before memorial day, we were heading to Day Out With Thomas. Big H wanted to put the flag up. I said, "OK, but its going to rain so we'll have to take it down."
Next thing I know I'm involved in an argument about how its not raining, how it is raining and, "Why are we going to see Thomas!"
I said, "Why don't you go talk to your father because we're obviously not connecting."
He said, "I'm not father! I'm Big H!" Except he said his name.

We had a busy weekend last week and I kept trying to get the boys to leave Grandma's house.
"Come on we need to go. Grandpa and Grandma are tired."
Big H looked at me, hands on hips, and said, "I'm tired too!"

The twins like to help me clean. Whenever I pull out a rag and cleaner they are right there, rags in hand, saying, "I help!"
They helped me mop their floor the other day. I tried hard to ignore the buckets of water being spilled everywhere.
When I moved to the playroom Big H said, "Hey, what you doing in my house?"
I ran upstairs to get something, and when I  came back he was cutely cleaning the playroom window with his rag. All by himself. I was a proud mama. Even if the window didnt get any cleaner.

Baby M has started to say, "Sorry". A word he's asked to say a lot. He also says, "Daddy" and "Mama". He picks up on things so quickly. He knows to put cans in the recycling, and he picks up his wrappers. They usually end up the sink, but thats OK. He's pretty darn cute. Even when he drives us crazy.

Sorry I haven't updated on some of our bigger adventures lately. Hopefully I can get to it some day.

It's Splash Pad Season

The boys and I took our first trip, of the season, to the splash pad. The twins had a blast. Baby M hardly got wet. But he did enjoy doing Baby M- ish things: walking up to strangers and smiling, climbing up on things, wondering around at a distance that makes his mother uncomfortable.

As we were leaving Little H pointed at thr cranes, across the way, and said, "LOOK! It's Cranky!"-- a Thomas. . .character.

I quite enjoyed our little visit this week. I look forward to many more splash pads adventures.

UVU Carshow

On the 19th we went with my dad to the UVU car show, down at Thanksgiving Point.

The twins were way excited this year, especially Little H. He kept saying, "I want to go see the cars!"

Big H was excited because we pointed out a motorcycle that could've been owned by the Dark Knight himself, Batman.

Baby M was happy to just run around.

Craig was excited about the Japanese Cars. He especially liked the Japanese Firetruck we saw.

I enjoyed the fact that Craig could actually join us this year.

The kids all enjoyed seeing a truck with a fish pond in the bed.

Everyone had a good time just enjoying all the great classic cars.

Thanks for the fun outing Dad!
