Hello Las Vegas
It's been a while since we've taken a good long trip to Vegas. And with the twins getting older we had good reason to spend some time enjoying all the sights.
We took some time to walk around Boulder City. It's a really neat little city. Highly recommend spending some time there.
We took the boys up to Hoover Dam. They loved it! They kept asking us to lift them up so they could look over the edge.
We walked across the new bridge out at the Dam, which is just incredible I have to say. These two engineering marvels suit each other well.
On the way home from the Dam we stopped at Lake Mead to feed the fish. The boys loved this as well!
We spent some time on the strip.
We showed Big H the lions at MGM-- he loves cats!
And we took the boys to M&M's world
We stopped at a local park so the boys could get some wiggles out.
We finished with a late night trip to Freemont Street-- the baby really enjoyed The Freemont Experience. Craig had never been, and now that he has hopefully we never have to go again. At least we weren't the only one's wheeling our kids around downtown at 11:00 at night.
This is why you have kids, so all those things that have lost a certain luster become like new. It's been a long time since I've enjoyed seeing the sights, in Vegas, like this. I really loved sharing something, that I've always loved, with my boys-- and actually getting response :).
Thanks to Aunt Pat and Donnie and Travis and Alisa for making this trip possible. We really enjoyed ourselves and appreciate you putting up with us while we enjoyed a good old family vacation!

Just a Few Things. . .
Just a few things we've been up to around here.
I want to say: Friday April 29th
We dropped some photos off at my grandparents house and they took us to see their neighbors baby ponies.
April 30th
We had a visit from some of my family that live in Las Vegas. I got to see my cousins little girl. I haven't seen her since she was a baby and she is now 4. We had fun visiting, and enjoyed their company.
Saturday May 7
We celebrated my dad's 64th birthday.
Baby M after trying chocolate cake for the first time.
Saturday May 14th
We went to a Pirate Party at a local grocery store. They were celebrating the new "Pirate's of the Carribean" movie.
Big H was afraid of this pirate ship.
When we got there they were closing up due to weather, but that didn't stop us from getting some nice pirate tattoos and enjoying a lunch in the deli. The boys even got balloons.
Saturday May 21st
I went to the UVU car show with my Dad. I was so excited for Little H to see the car show this year. The boys loved it! They even started to pose by the cars for me as I took pictures.

Mother's Day
This year we celebrated Mother's Day on Friday the 6th since Craig had work all weekend. I asked Craig if we could go to the the Tulip Festival at Thanksgiving Point because tulips are my FAVORITE and I have NEVER been. So took me there he did and it was wonderful!
The Gardens are beautiful and there was so much to see. We started in the children's section. It was such a neat place I bet we could've stayed there all day.
They had caves and windows to let you see under the water-- though you really couldn't see much :)
They had hedge mazes too-- Little H was a little afraid to go in. We actually got lost in this one.
A water feature you could play in.
And trails that wondered off the paved path. My adventurous Big H loved these-- he loves exploring and he's very independent. Little H was a little nervous though. We convinced him to go on this trail, but he wouldn't go on any others.
There was so much to see in the kids section I was worried I wouldn't get to see the wonderful tulips. But we finally made it down to the festival.
We stopped at this doughnut place to get a snack and they had some of the most wonderful food-- the doughnuts were delicious and the corn dogs were amazing!
I got this strawberry desert. It was like strawberry shortcake only it was made with doughnuts instead of angel food cake. It was to die for!
After our snack Craig purchased this lovely parasol for me. I seriously have wanted one of these my whole life-- one like this and one of those fancy frilly old fashioned ones. Apparently my children have been wanting one their whole lives too. It was the hit of the evening and they kept fighting over it. Big H was the most in love with it. Here you see him pouting because I told him to give Little H a turn.
Finally we made the trip down to the gardens to view the tulips.
By the way Big H is the one holding the parasol in all these pictures. Except for the last one.
Everything was Beautiful! The only thing that could have made it better is if my camera's batteries weren't low, and if I had wiped off that smudge on the lens. Oh, and more tulips would have been awesome of course! But those matters are simply trivial. Everything else about the festival was perfect.
Did I mention Thanksgiving Point has this awesome waterfall feature. I think it's the tallest man made waterfall in the United States or something. Anyway, you can walk through the waterfall feature which is really cool!
Once again Big H refused to put down the parasol
After we made the rounds of the festival we came back to the vendors to get more awesome food. We got some more deep fried stuff from the doughnut place-- pretty much all of their food was fantastic! And Craig and I each got a Navajo Taco because when you're at a festival, and they have Navajo Tacos, that's what you get. At least if you're me.
And we also bought the boys their own parasols because they wouldn't stop fighting over mine. Aren't they so cute? When Big H got his he danced around holding it. Laughing and screaming all the while. He was so pleased with that parasol. Of course, Little H followed in his tread. ;)
This was truly a wonderful Mother's Day Celebration! The only thing that could have made it better is if Craig could have been with me on Sunday.
While Craig was at work all weekend we continued to celebrate our wonderful mothers. My Grandma Andreason joined us for a BBQ on Saturday, and I made my mom Breakfast and dinner on Sunday. We also visited Grandma Andreason and Grandma and Grandpa Guthrie on Sunday. It was all really enjoyable despite a kind of difficult time at church :)
Hope every mom enjoyed their special day!
