Jaunary 16, 2009: And the Walls Came Tumbling Down. . .Oh! And I Went Shopping!

Last Saturday we had some fun here. Craig discovered that the wall we wanted to cut down in the basement wasn't a supporting wall. So down it came!

While He did that I went shopping for my new nephew. We didn't know he was a boy until he arrived, so we didn't have a baby shower for him.Brady and Jessica were in need of some baby stuff however, so my mom and my aunt decided to spend the money they would have spent on a shower on buying gifts. I tagged along for fun! It was nice to get out, and my mom bought me lunch at Mimi's Cafe-which was such a treat since eating out has been an endangered species in our house lately.

After buying the gifts we wrapped them up and delivered them to the little guy and his mom.

January 17, 2009: We've Got Two Little Movers!

He'd been secretly hiding the fact that he could crawl for a few days, but Mom and Dad finally figured it out and, a remote trick later, Big H became a crawler.

Of course, even after the remote trick he still wasn't that into it. He's happy just to sit. But he's been crawling more and more.

So far we've managed to stay sane. Who knows how long that will last.

Look at that Jazz Split!

January 11, 2010: We'd Like to Welcome. . .

On Monday my brother got to experience the miracle of childbirth as he welcomed his first baby into the world. Brady and Jessica are the proud parents of a little baby boy.

This is Jessica's third boy, and this makes 6 grandsons for our family- no granddaughters. The little guy was early but weighed in at a healthy 7.5 pounds and he is 19 inches long.

He sure is a cutie, and we are excited to welcome him into the family.

January 5, 2010: He's on the Move!

We're proud to announce that on Tuesday the 5th little H finally built up the confidence to crawl. We could tell he was ready but just wouldn't make the final step, so one night we bribed him with the much sought after remote.

He has slowly become more and more mobile, and he is now realizing what this new found power means.

Mom and Dad were pretty excited. Even though we know that we have a lot of "fun" to look forward to.

New Years Resolutions!

I've never been good at resolutions. I think the proof lies in the fact that I've been making the same resolutions since high school.

This year isn't much different. We're pretty much taking it one day at a time, so resolutions seem out of the question. But we have been doing something that resembles a resolution. We have managed to keep it so far, and I'm rather proud of us so I thought I'd mention it here.

Craig may join the ROTC and if so he needs to pass a physical test. Thanks to the requirements of the army my husband finally agreed to run with me in the mornings. We've kept it up so far, and I hope we can continue to do so. I feel so much better after our morning runs. Even if the air is crummy.

December 31, 2009-January 1, 2010: . . .And a Happy New Year

I never know what to do on New Years. Going to a first night event has never peaked my interest, especially now that we have kids. But I do like to commemorate the New Year somehow, so this year we decided to invite some people over for a little food, conversation and games. My mom bought some noise makers to set off at the big moment, and we brought our TV out into the living room so we could all watch the ball drop. It ended up being a very fun New Years Eve.

We had a sundae bar and a Hot Cocoa Bar. This is Craig showing everyone how to do a Tim Tam Slam- except he's using Keebler Grasshopper Cookies for this one since the store didn't have Tim Tams.

Hope everyone had Fun! Thanks for coming and Happy New Year!!!

December 28, 2009: Another Trip to Garndner Village

This time we went to see the Elves. Since we were completely broke, and tired we didn't stay for very long.

December 28, 2009: Goodbye to Osa

On Monday my family's dog Osa had to be put to sleep due to liver failure.

Goodbye Osa! We will miss you!

December 26, 2009: Tim Tam Slams

Invented by Craig and his mission buddies, Tim Tam Slams are achieved when you take a cookie called a Tim Tam, bite a corner off each end, suck hot chocolate through the cookie and then pop the cookie into your mouth and let it dissolve.

They are rather delicious and on Saturday Craig introduced them to my Family. Everyone enjoyed the cookies and all their richness then drank the remainder of their hot cocoa.

Well when Big H found out that his grandparents had finished their cocoa without giving him a sip he got a little upset. So him and his brother were given a Tim Tam to split.
