Lunch With Dad and Trains to Boot

The other day we took Craig lunch at work and, low and behold, it was up the street from the Union Pacific.

After Dad went back to work I drove the boys down to see the trains.

Little H got out if the car and took off running to find the trains. He got me in trouble with one of the employees driving by. Big H wanted to stay in the car because he said, "I'm cold mom."

I didn't realize how chilly it was when I got them dressed.

Baby M got out of the car though. Him and Little H posed for a picture. I couldn't get them to look though and I didn't spend much time trying. Big H was right, it was cold.l

He Puts His Pants on One Leg at a Time. . .

Just not one pant leg at a time.

Little H helped get himself dressed the other day. He came out to the kitchen and couldn't figure out exactly what had happened with his shorts.

I lifted up his shirt to find he had put both legs through one side and hiked it up to his waist.

Our Lover of Afghans

Baby M loves afghans. He drags them all over the house. Lays them on floor to make a bed. Rubs them on his the face and asks me to wrap them around him. I'm hoping to find a way to make him an afghan for his second birthday-- the twins got a fleece tied quilt for their second birthday. I wish i had tried harder to harness those crocheting skills my mom taught me as a kid.

It's hard to say exactly what we've been up to since Easter. Just life I guess. I went to a shower for my cousin Alisha and her little boy. Craig and I did some yard work. Finally. We finally finished the pathway in our front yard. I'm really pleased with our front yard right now.
This is our pear tree with all it's blossoms. Our apricot tree never got very many blossoms because we didn't prune it soon enough, so I was happy to see some blossoms on our tree.
The boys and I have been up some fun things. We have made pictures out of shapes. We made bird feeders with apples, peanut butter and bird seed and we planted some seeds. We planted flowers and pumpkins. I was happy to see that our pumpkins had started to grow. They are growing fast too. It looks like we may be able to have a Pumpkin Party after all. If we can get them in the ground in time.
The boys have been up to their usual cuteness.

Big H is such a good brother. When he has a cookie, drink or snack, and Little H wants some, he happily just shares. Little H fell off the chair the other day and Big H pushed me out of the way and said, "Let me see my Hynerum." He helped him up and then gave him a hug.

He's also good to his mom. He sweetly brought me an Oreo cookie the last two morning. He loves to bring me flowers. And the other day when I sneezed he brought me some tissue.

Big H just loves his dad. He gets so excited when Craig comes home. And always asks for him when he's at work. He loves seeing his Daddy.

Big H has a bit of a sassy side. In nursery he wouldn't sit up and I kept trying to get him to. He finally turned to me and said, "I'm Tired!"

The other day Big H came into the kitchen, saw that Little H was dressed and said, "Oh! I want to get dressed."

Big H has been continuing to poop his pants. He also went through a bad rut of bed wetting and peeing his pants. We were getting a little frustrated, so we told him that when he had an accident Little H got to pick the movie at nap and bed time-- movies are a big deal to Big H. One nap time he got up to use the potty, but didn't make it in time and peed on the floor. He took of his pants and got clean underwear and climbed back in bed. We told him he could pick the movie, since he had tried but just didn't make it. He replied, "I no pick. I peed my pants"

The other day he spilled punch on his clothes. We changed them and he asked for a diaper. He sometimes wants diapers to poop in so I strapped one on. He, of course, had to put on his batman cape. And his cowboy boots completed the ensemble. Craig mentioned the need for a picture. When I grabbed the camera he informed me that he was Super Harold.
Little H is now asking to use the toilet every now and then. I think he mostly wants a treat. One time he asked for a treat and I told him only if he went pee on the potty. He sat on that toilet for over an hour. Big H peed his pants because no toilet was free. Little H still produced no pee. I gave him a treat for his dedication, and his poor little red bum.

Little H has decided he gets to pick out his clothes now. Every morning, when I walk over to get their clothes for the day, he's right there saying, "I want to pick out shirt." If he is left out of the choosing process, and does not approve of my choice, there is no convincing him to change his mind. He's very particular.

After we planted the flowers and pumpkins I asked, "Do you think our flowers will grow, boys?" Little H replied, "No I don't want to grow boys."

Little H still likes to pretend to be a kitty. The other day I had to refer to him as a kitty and not Little H or else he wouldn't respond. Big H would get upset and say, "He's not a Kitty. He's Hynerum."

Baby M needs a story too:
He is a super social baby. He takes off independently in stores and buildings, and doesn't give us a second thought. The other day he flirted with a couple at Costco. He waved and talked. Next thing I knew he was climbing up to their table, ready to join them for lunch.

He also had fun flirting with some girls when we stopped to get ice cream the other night.

He likes to show off and play up the cuteness when he's around people. He has a cute wave, and says, "Hi-ya!" He waves to us each night at bed time. Lets just say he knows how to be cute.

Also, Baby M has given into the Thomas obsession. He LOVES Thomas and dances and claps when it comes on.

The last of the things that we have been up to is the baby shower we had tonight. I was so excited to host this shower for my friend. She has 3 boys like me, and is now expecting her first girl. We have just really enjoyed her, and her family, and I was just so excited to help her celebrate this moment.

I don't feel like a did much. She had it at her house, so I didn't have to clean. She practically delivered all the invites. All I had to do was make invites and bring the food.
I was kind of sad that I couldn't get really into it, do to lack of funds, so my mom took me shopping and we bought some fun decor and a diaper cake kit. Diaper cakes are surprisingly easy to make. Now that I know the secrets I may have to make some more. I like this kit because it doubles as a headband, hair clips and tutu for the baby.

Me doing food meant homemade Cafe Rio, Oreo truffles and a fruit tray. I may enjoy making these a little too much. There just so nice, easy and fun. They add such a nice touch.
Other than that there's just work. Craig is picking up some stuff at a temp agency. I quit my job and I am hoping to maybe get some baby sitting jobs. Things seem to be falling into place pretty well right now. We hope things continue to go well.

Easter Weekend!

Our Easter festivities began on Friday with dying eggs. We found a great kit where you just roll the paint on with rollers. It was much easier, and much faster. But I did kind of miss the old fashioned vinegar dyes.

Baby M got frustrated with the rollers, so I would just paint his hand and let him hold the egg.

The Easter Bunny was gracious and hid our eggs on Saturday, so we could attend my cousins baby blessing on Sunday. We had a really fun egg hunt in my parents back yard.

After the egg hunt we enjoyed our traditional meal of Eggs-all-a-Goldenrod.

The next day we woke up to more treats from the Easter Bunny.

We then headed to the baby blessing.

We enjoyed the afternoon at a park, in Layton, with family.

Afterwards we enjoyed a peaceful ride home.

Happy Easter!!!

Happy Birthday Boys!

The boys celebrated their third birthday on March 25. We had so much fun making it a special day for them.

Since their party was on a Sunday we took them bowling the night before.

Baby M was being a huge stinker. I let him have my turn, but when it was over he would just throw a huge fit. Finally we got him to be content watching The Wiggles and eating a corn dog.

The next day was their birthday. We woke up and I made the boys some Mickey Mouse Pancakes with buttermilk syrup.

Little H saw this "Happy Birthday" sign and said, "Look letters!"

We went to nursery where they sang "Happy Birthday" and gave the boys fun birthday cards. Their nursery leader brought them fun presents before church. She is so good to those kids.

Later that day we had family over for a party. I asked the boys if they wanted a Thomas Party or a Superman Party. Big H said he wanted a Dash Party-- Dash is a character from Thomas and Friends. We made cake pops for their cake and put Thomas and Friends pictures on them. I was sure to include Dash.

We found some cute decorations on sale,

and Craig set up a huge train set in the living room.

I think we were pretty successful at throwing them a Thomas/Dash party.

We of course had some yummy food. I made another fruit tray, just for the fun of it-- I wanted to show Craig what I've been learning to do at work.

The boys celebrated their birthday with my mom-- hers is on April 7. So we made her a cake too. Since we couldn't really put candles on the boys cake we just used grandmas when we sang "Happy Birthday".

The boys got so many gifts. As always everyone was incredibly generous. They got a lot of clothes, some fun toys, and some superhero capes. They had a good birthday.

The boys had a fun night, and we enjoyed getting together with everyone. Thanks to everyone that made the day so special.

*Cute Big H story

The other day I told Big H he was such a boy. He replied, "I'm not a boy. I'm Hynerum"
