I could hardly wait to keep our date that lovely Easter Morning

So Irving Berlin's "Easter Parade" is yet to be part of my Easter celebration this year. But I thought the line from the title song would be a cute title for our 2010 Easter blog post.

We started the celebration the weekend before Easter at the FM 100 Easter Egg Hunt up at This is the Place Heritage Park.

The Egg Hunt was a bust- the 0-3 year old egg hunter's parents got a little too anxious and started the brawl for Easter Eggs early, the unpredictable Utah Spring weather left us all a little a chilly and we waited in line far too long to see the Easter Bunny- but Craig and I enjoyed the visit to This is the Place. . .just as well. Truthfully the only reason we went was because there was free admission to the park.

The boys were wonderful at the event even though they chose not to sleep on the ride up there and didn't get to sleep till later that afternoon on the drive home. Big H was so excited to get to see the animals at the park. He really likes animals.

The next weekend mom and the boys went shopping with Grandma A. while the men went to Priesthood, and then we returned late in the evening to color Easter eggs.

Grandma A. had fun putting sticker on the boys. Surprisingly most of them stayed on through the night, and had to be scrubbed off in the tub.

The next morning we woke to see what the Easter Bunny had brought.

Little H wasn't interested in the Easter Bunny's gifts. In fact he was more interested in his car seat and it's straps.

I even placed the gifts in his car seat and this is what he did.

So then Daddy distracted him and I hid the car seat. Now he gets it!

They decided to dig into their giant lollipops. Yum! After snacking on these for a bit they had to hop into the bath and get a new set of clothes.

After their nap we went on our egg hunt. The boys got really into it which was fun!

Halfway through the egg hunt Little H figured out what was in the plastic eggs. We had no choice but to stop and give them candy because they were going to take it either way- wrapper or not.

This is a picture of what happens when you buy the cheapest egg dye and allow children of the "Let's stick everything in our mouth" age join in on an egg hunt ;)

After the egg hunt the boys were given a second bath- onsies and all- and, do to lack of clothes, we put them in their PJ's and headed to my brother's house for our traditional Easter meal of "Eggs All a Golden Rod".

Hope everyone had a Happy Easter!

  1. Holy stinkin' cute! The boys look so grown up in these pictures! I'm kinda freaking out about that. I have to agree that it's super fun to play Easter egg hunt with little ones.
