LIttle M's Birthday

For Little M's birthday we decided to go out on the boat on Labor Day. But I thought we could enjoy some cake and ice cream in the park on the Sunday before just so we could celebrate the actual day. Well that ended up being a mess. The boys were so disobedient that day that I just cracked. It's so hard when you put effort into trying to do something fun, and you're so excited to see the joy on their faces, and they just won't stop fighting and won't listen. While at the park waiting to see if anyone would show Little M stole a kids toy, and I had to chase him down and make him give it back. I told him I was just going to cancel his party. Some friends made it to the celebration,-- so grateful they came-- but it got dark way sooner than I thought. By the time we lit the candles and sang happy birthday there was no light for pictures and no camera to take them with. Then at home the kids still threw fits so I took all the gifts and put them up.

We got a Spiderman cake because they didn't have Thomas the Train.

The next day, before the boat we had a do over. We sang happy birthday. . .

. . .ate cake. . .

and pulled his presents out of bags again.

It was a nice little remake of what had turned into such a disastrous party the day before.

Then we headed out on the boat. My Dad hit a post at the gas station with the boat trailer and it bent the fender, so we had to help him bang out the dent before he could move the trailer. But we eventually made it to the lake and had a great time.

We had fun swimming, eating and riding around.

The boys had fun feeding the birds.

Later we came home and put together Little M's new  train set. After he fell asleep the twins decided he should sleep with his new set and took it apart and set it in bed with him.

Little M's birthday started our hard, but it ended nicely. I'm still trying to piece together an afghan quilt for him, so if anyone can crochet or knit, and wouldn't mind making him a square of any size to go on his quilt, let me know :).
